Tempel Gin

London Dry Gin

London Dry gin is the style of gin for purists. The distiller is not allowed to add anything other than water after the distilling process, meaning that all flavorings and spices must be added beforehand, and it can not be sweetened. This makes London Dry Gin the most complicated style of gin to make, but it rewards with a taste profile that is not possible to reach with aromas and essences.

Tempel LDG is designed for balance and versatility. The bottom notes of juniper is marked but not dominating. The woody, gamey notes from the two different roots used are followed by more subdued spicy citrusy coriander and herbal notes. On top of it all comes liberal amounts of citrus for a tangy, candy like finish.

It is bottled at the traditional 40 % abv, making it pleasant with an ice cube and perfect to be used as a base in cocktails.

Extra Navy Gin

Navy gin is traditionally a few bits stronger compared to other styles of gin. This is not because of the limited loading capacity of ships in the olden days, nor is it weight limits. However, if a ship was hit by a cannon ball, and the gin barrels were compromised and leaked on the gunpowder, that gunpowder is unusable if the gin has the traditional 40% abv. If the gin is stronger, at a minimum of 57% abv, the gunpowder can still be ignited and thus (perhaps) saving the crew from precarious situations in say, a battle.

Our Navy gin is bottled undiluted, at 75% abv. It is excellent in cocktails and with mixers but should be handled with caution because of the very high alcohol content.

Blue Gin

Blue Gin is exactly that – gin that has been colored blue with botanicals. There are no artificial colorings in this product, it’s all botanicals.

And the best part is that it changes color to purple when tonic is added. The color changing aspect makes Blue Gin ideal in bright cocktails such as Gin & Tonic or similar, served in clear glass.

The flavor can be described as balanced and easy going with an elegant floral component reminiscent of roses. Juniper and coriander makes up the base with lighter citrusy notes following. The rosy floral notes together with the citrus makes a lingering finish.

At 40 % abv, it is not too overpowering and can be served both neat or as the base in cocktails.
